A delegation of
about 980 pilgrims from the Kurdistan Area of Iraq took section within the Arbaeen
commemorations in Karbala this week, sporting the Iraqi and Kurdistan Area
flags, in keeping with Ali al-Qaraawi, consultant of the Imam Hussein Shrine
within the Kurdistan Area.
Karbala, a town
in southern Iraq, properties the shrine of Imam Hussein, a central determine in Shiite
Islam, and attracts massive numbers of pilgrims all over Arbaeen, the spiritual
observance marking the 40th day after the anniversary of his demise.
Al-Qaraawi
described the sporting of each flags as an expression of nationwide concord
amongst Iraq’s more than a few ethnic and spiritual elements, stating that
arrangements are underway to obtain an additional delegation from the Kurdistan
